Big Bang

by Felix Perez-Cuza, July 7, 2025 – Florida

Life is but a second. You count it— and it’s already gone. In that instant, everything ends. What remains are tears, bones, or dust.

Life is a breath. A tear, a sorrow. You move your hands, you blink, your heart beats once— and it’s finite. It’s over.

The awareness of your own mortality makes you tender. Just as your heart learned to beat, in that fleeting moment when you realized you could love, it all ended.

There is nothing left. Only the memory of those moments of ecstasy, of love, or pain. That is what many call a lifetime.

What is life, if not a series of events in which you briefly realize you exist? And in that realization— that ache— you whisper, “Wow… I’m alive.” And right there, in that very moment, you died.
