Nina Negra

Image
Eres amada Félix Pérez-Cuza  04/29/2025 Za’noviah Delancy

Black Girl

Image
Black Girl  You dance, and on your skin bear the suns and sweats of your ancestors. Your tired face, the face of a child worn old, Holds more life than the savanna where they dwelled. You know of pains and sufferings, of punishments and blessings. Your blood boils with the history they didn't tell you, With the life you live and dream. For your beautiful child-soul weeps, and it grieves to see. Your very being bears the pain of all your generations. You deserve to be happy, child. You do not have to live the life that was left to you. Fight and triumph with the strength of knowing you are part Of the first humans, that you were created as you are, And that you have not changed. May your skin reflect not only the pain, But also the blessing of your race. Live, child. Be happy. Smile. You are loved. Felix Perez-Cuza 04/29/2025 Za’noviah Delancy
